      What's Inside Every Turbo Motorcycle Shirt

      The outside is a check-pattern shirt; the inside is gear. The lining is 50% DuPont Kevlar, 50% cotton the same aramid family racing suits used for stretch zones rated slash and cut resistant and flame resistant to roughly 930°F. Removable CE-approved EVA protectors sit in pockets at the elbows, shoulders and back, so the shirt arrives protective, not "armor-ready." Seams are double-stitched with heavy-duty nylon thread, sleeves are full length for coverage at the bars, and plus sizing is available on request. At $139–$149 it undercuts every named armored-shirt brand by $100 or more with the protection spec in the box.

      How to Choose Your Motorcycle Riding Shirt

      1. Pick the look. Classic buffalo checks, dark plaids or solids every colorway carries the same lining and armor, so choose with your eyes.

      2. Fit it over a tee. These wear as an over-shirt: size for a t-shirt underneath, armor snug at the elbows when your arms reach the bars. Between sizes or need plus sizing? Go custom mockup in 24 hours.

      Do these shirts come with armor included?

      Yes — removable CE-approved EVA protectors at the elbows, shoulders and back ship in every shirt, seated in internal pockets. That is the line most riding flannels quietly cross: many brands sell the shirt and charge separately for the pads. Pull the protectors out for the wash or a casual wear, press them back in to ride. If you prefer upgraded protectors you already own, the pockets accept standard CE sizes.

      More than any cotton layer, less than full leather that's the honest answer. The Kevlar aramid lining resists abrasion, cuts and heat far beyond denim or a hoodie, and the CE armor absorbs impact at the points that hit first. For city speeds and commuting it is a real step up from riding in street clothes. For sustained highway or track pace, cowhide still rules, that's what our jackets and race suits are for.

      Aramid is the fiber family DuPont sells as Kevlar, the material in body armor and racing-suit stretch panels. Turbo shirts line the body with a 50% Kevlar, 50% cotton blend: the cotton keeps it soft and breathable against skin, the aramid brings slash and cut resistance plus flame resistance to roughly 930°F (500°C). You get protective fiber without the cardboard feel of an all-aramid layer, and it reads as a normal flannel from the outside.

      Cool mornings and evenings, yes — over a light tee it's comfortable into the 70s while moving. In real summer heat a lined flannel works harder than mesh gear, so treat it as your spring, fall and mild-day shirt rather than a July-afternoon one. Riders in hot states often run it as the commute layer for early starts. Whatever the month, keep the armor in; an unlined flannel with the pads removed is just a shirt again.
