Gauntlet, Short-Cuff or Winter Glove? Match the Glove to the Ride

Most "women's motorcycle gloves" in the results are short-cuff fashion pairs easy to wear, undressed at the wrist, gone in the first slide. This collection is gauntlet-first, and here's the honest map.

      Type

      Best For

      Pros

      Cons

      Gauntlet racing gloves (this collection)

Sport and street riding at real speeds

Cuff locks over the sleeve, TPU knuckles, doubled palm

Warmer than short-cuffs; more glove to break in

      Short-cuff fashion gloves

      Around town, warm days

      Cool, cute, cheap

Exposed wrist gap — the first thing pavement finds

      Winter / heated gloves

      Cold-climate commuting

      Warmth, weatherproofing

Bulk kills lever feel; not a protection-first build

      What's Built Into Every Pair

The spec sheet reads like women's racing gloves should: 0.7–0.9mm cow aniline leather with ventilation perforations, Italian TPU protectors over the knuckles, a second full layer of leather across the palm, and pre-curved, padded fingers that follow the grip instead of fighting it. The details are where riders live: an index fingertip that works your phone without ungloving, an elasticized wrist with Velcro and hook-and-loop cuff that seals over your jacket sleeve, and a foam-layered lining that damps bar vibration on long rides. Six colors orange, blue, black, white, red, green and every pair ships free worldwide.

      How to Choose Your Pair

      1. Fit is everything. Contact at every fingertip, snug across the knuckles, zero loose leather at the palm bunched leather is what folds and burns in a slide.

      2. Check finger length, not just size. Most fit complaints are proportions, not sizing. If S fits your palm but drowns your fingers, that's what custom sizing exists for.

      3. Match the cuff to the sleeve. The gauntlet closes over a women's jacket or suit sleeve measuring the sleeve, not just the hand.

      4. Pick the color or send yours. Six stock shades, and the custom program mirrors your suit's palette exactly.

Sized to Her Hands, Not Shrunk to S

The industry's women's glove is a men's pattern cut smaller with the same finger proportions, same palm width, shorter size run which is why gloves that fit your palm swallow your fingertips or pinch across the knuckles. Turbo's answer is the same one our women's suits run on: measurement, not assumption. Send your hand measurements through the custom program and the pair is cut to them finger lengths, palm width, wrist circumference at no bespoke markup. And if you're ordering a Turbo suit anyway, remember the matching pair is already free with it.

      Gloves for Every Rider

Sport riders run the full gauntlet spec over a race suit sleeve. Street riders wear the same pair of daily race protection and don't mind a commute, and the touchscreen fingertip means navigation without ungroving. Cold-morning riders add a balaclava and keep the same gloves for three seasons. Riders building a matched kit custom-order the pair in their suit's colors. Couples: the men's TurboGrip line is the identical build, so his-and-hers protection is one order.

      Break-In, Washing and Care

Aniline leather arrives snug and molds to your hands within a week, wear the pair around the house and flex your grip to speed it up, and never soak leather to stretch it. Cleaning is a wipe-down with a damp cloth and leather cleaner, air-dried away from heaters; machine-washing is how good gloves die. The TPU armor needs nothing, the foam lining recovers on its own, and a seasonal dab of conditioner keeps the hide supple. The perforations, by the way, are the ventilation working airflow through the leather on hot days, by design.

How should women's motorcycle gloves fit?

Like a firm handshake: snug across the knuckles, light contact at every fingertip, no spare leather floating at the palm, and the gauntlet closing over your sleeve without a fight. New aniline leather feels a size tight for the first few rides, then molds to your hand so never size up for day-one comfort. If your palm and finger lengths land in different sizes, skip the compromise: custom sizing cuts the pair to your measurements.

The honest spec: Italian TPU armor over the knuckles, a dual-layer leather palm where slides land first, 0.7–0.9mm aniline hide for abrasion, padded pre-curved fingers, and a gauntlet cuff that keeps all of it anchored to your arm mid-slide. That's the same protection logic as our men's racing gloves, because pavement doesn't check gender. No inflated claims beyond that the build is visible on the glove.

Not in a machine that's the fastest way to crack leather and delaminate padding. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth and a leather cleaner, let sweat-soaked pairs air-dry fully away from heaters and direct sun, and condition the hide once a season. The foam lining airs out overnight. Treated this way a quality pair outlasts several fashion pairs, and the leather ages into a custom fit no new glove can match.

Aniline leather gives, deliberately: expect it to relax about a quarter to half size across the first week of riding as it molds to your grip. That's break-in, not bad sizing which is why the correct new glove feels snug, never painful, and why sizing up "for comfort" leaves you with loose leather at the palm later, exactly where you don't want it. Pre-curved fingers speed the process by starting the leather in riding shape.

Those are ventilation perforations, and they're doing a job: moving air across your hands while you ride so sweat doesn't turn the grip slippery in summer. They're punched in low-stress zones of the leather, so they don't compromise abrasion protection where the doubled palm and knuckle armor stay solid. If you ride deep winter, that's when you want a dedicated sealed pair instead; these are the three-season gloves.

Complete the kit: women's motorcycle jackets up top, or go full-spec with a women's motorcycle suit the matching gloves come free with it.
